THE SMILING SUN
Hello!

I'm Smile and you can call me Smile. This is my website "The Smiling Sun"! I'm currently an A2 student trying to apply for University. I'm pretty busy nowadays so I don't get to update this site that much - hopefully once I'm in Uni I will. I have many interests but most of them are on hold as I'd like to focus on getting admitted to a good Uni. I really wanna go to a good University.

I'm really into Touhou. I've been into it ever since 2022-2023 (can't remember the specific date or month), and ever since then I just kept getting more and more into it. In case you don't know Touhou and have no idea what I'm talking about you can check out the Touhou Wiki. So far I've only played the PC-98 games as they are considered abandonware and hence people don't mind sharing their files and software to run them, making them ironically more available then the Windows games. My parents would never give me money for games, so I wish to get a job so I can later buy the Windows games :D.

I've been also into other stuff like Anime and Manga. I used to binge a lot more Anime during Grade 6-10. I still watch anime but not as much as back then. Nowadays I consume more of Mangas and a bit of Light Novels but even those have died down. I do often update my MAL whenever I do watch someting so you could check it out here.
Haven't watched Movies and haven't read many Books or Novels but I do plan to read more in the future after getting into University. No I'm not much of a reader (at least not right now). University Admission is the only thing holding me back from so many things I want to do. I also do some art and stuff. You could check them out here. But nowadays I don't do so as much as I used to. After Uni I want to do some animations for my Youtube Channel. I wont link it here cause there is not much there as of now.

As for general gaming. Well as I said before, my parents will never give me money for it. I used to have this private tutor who was also a gamer who gave me most of the games I ever played. He gave me a lot of SNES and Gameboy games and the emulators for them. From SNES my favorite is "Chrono Trigger" and from Gameboy my favorite is "Pokemon Firered". He also gave me Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2. I've only finished playing MGS1 and that's the only game I finished so far from the games that my private tutor gave me. While playing MGS2 my gamepad stopped working. There's no way to change the keyboard controls for MGS2 so it's really hard to play it without a gamepad. So I haven't been able to play it for over a year. The gamepad that stopped working was given to me by my cousin(it was his own old gamepad, and he did warn me it's old and malfunctions from time to time) and since my parents doesn't give me money, I've been unabled to play MGS2 for over a year by now.

I got into intense programming since 2020. By intense I mean that I did do programming before but only from then on did I really start pushing myself to keep learning more and more. I started with front end Devolopment - like most - starting with html, then css and then javascript. So my first programming language was javascript. After doing those, I learned Python and it's from then I took off. It took me around 6 months to finish learning Python I think. I did a few projects like a spam bot, and made a few mini games using Pygame mostly for learning purposes by watching tutorials. I then got into Java and boy was that hell! I took a GUI calculator as a project to do. I wanted the the Program to mimick my Casio Calculator but Java didn't have an eval() function like in Python or Javascript. It took me about 2-3 years to work around this limitation and make it work. By that time I finished learning C and C++ and was looking into Intel x86_64 architecture Assembly (just 16 bits and 32 bits). Well after Java, I got into C and till now I still consider C to be my primary. I still get forced to use C++ as Windows GUI appications mostly work with C++.
I had to use C++ for game Dev in Windows. I learned a lot about game dev in C++ untill sound. It's so freaking complicated. I'm making a simple 2D game engine from scratch because I wanted to learn the nity grity of things. Right now that's on hold as well. I then learned x86 Assembly cause why not. Then had to use that knowledge eventually when I got curious about how Opereting Systems work. I made a bootloader and made a little incomplete kernel until things became unmentainable and bugs became unfindable, forcing me to abandon ship (for now). Maybe I'll get back to it again later after getting into Uni. Yes, once again, that's the only thing holding me back right now. Gosh!
My primary OS is Windows 10, but I have been looking through various Linux distros through Virtual Machines and trying to see which works best. So Far I've tried Mint, Debian and Manjaro. I plan to look into many more distros to find the one that works best for me. It's actually a really fun activity trying out and experimenting with different distros. If curious you could check out my github here. I haven't uploaded much of my stuff there.

These days I mostly watch Pewdiepie's old videos from Youtube to spend the time and just study for my exams and stuff and keep looking into Unis. I didn't have access to the internet during Pewpiepie's peak or the T-series era but recently I really got into him and been binging his content. It's a fun thing to watch his videos from various eras and see how much the guy changed.
Pewdiepie's content is more of just a cope for all the pressure from studies and getting into college. I watch other stuff as watch like all the mainstreams as well. And also a lot of Touhou music as well incase you haven't guessed.

My parents arn't that rich, so I'll need a scholarship to support my higher education. This is of course another thing to to my pressures as I'm like an avarage student. My Dad wants me to focus on American Universities. With the comming of Trump and all, it's getting more concerning. I want to study in some form of Engineering. Either Aerospace Engineering or Computer Engineering. If I'll have to study in my country, I'll probably go for Electrical Engineering as Unis in my country doesn't have the other two subjects.

Well, that's about it. This probably feels more like a diary entry XD. Well thanks for reading it anyways. Have fun checking out the rest of the website.
Now then, I will lay down my keyboard here for today.
